First let me begin by thanking you for continuing to traverse these uncharted waters with us. What you are having to bear is significant and we want to be there for you and your children in every way possible.  Although we will not be able to meet in person until April 6th (prayerfully), your child will still receive a superior Christian education as the faculty and staff of First Baptist Academy are committed to teaching for time and eternity. Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, we will be continuing our education through different avenues. PreK-2nd grades will be given packets and 3rd-12th grades will be moving online.
Rest assured, we will be doing everything on our part to not make this overwhelming for our parents and students. Please be patient with your teachers and your children as we all will be going through some learning curves. We have established guidelines to limit the amount of subjects you receive in one day from the teachers along with making sure that the lessons you receive are motivating to keep the students engaged. Let’s go FBA Eagles-We know that you can do this!

Learning Packets will be made each week that we are closed.  The packets will be available on Monday from 10:00 am -6:00 pm.  We will have clear tubs labeled and set up outside the doors by the PRESCHOOL/ELS drop off area. Hand sanitizer will be available. We ask that you sanitize your hands before you touch any of the packets.
Teachers will give video instructions when needed on the Preschool Facebook page.

The packets will have detailed instructions on what to do each day with the materials included. They will also offer enrichment ideas that are not required but encouraged to extend the learning.
*Some classes will also utilize Google Classroom. You will receive notification from your teacher if your classroom will communicate this way.

If you are unable to access the Internet, please contact your child/children’s teacher so that they are able to assist you another way. You will find instructions below on how to access their Gmail account to gain access to Google Classroom for the online instruction.
The student’s teacher will be emailing you the needed information for your child to obtain a school email address with the initial password that you will have the ability to change. Below are instructions to help you navigate through this process.

Our prayer is that you continue to stand with us.  Tuition is the primary means of income for the Academy as we are a non-profit school and without your commitment, the faculty and staff cannot be compensated for their work.  Payments will remain due by the 15th of each month and may be paid online or sent through the mail. Thank you for seeing the importance in this.

This period is unlike any other in our lifetime. The health and safety of our students, staff and community at large is our utmost priority. FBA is a family and therefore I am asking that we all come together through prayer as a school, city, and nation to put all of our trust hope and faith in following our Heavenly Father as we traverse these uncharted waters. Scripture tells us that “when the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul” (Psalms 94:19, ESV). As always, we remain available to you through email for any questions or prayers that you may have.
In His Service,

Christine M. Povolish
FBA Head Administrator
