March 17, 2020

Good Evening Parents,

First let me begin by thanking you for weathering these uncertain times with us. What you are having to bear is significant and we want to be there for you and your children in every way possible. Based on the continued spread of the COVID-19, FBA will continue to be closed through April 3, 2020. At this time FBA plans on reopening school and offices on Monday, April 6, 2020.

I know that the closure of school is not easy for our families and community and we appreciate your support as we work to make the best decisions in this rapidly changing situation. This closure will continue to apply to any instructional classes, after school and extracurricular activities including practices and competitions/performances. FBA has been preparing the transition to remote instruction and learning as our staff is working to design what learning will look like during this period of school closure. Our plan is to be able to begin the remote learning process on Monday, March 23, 2020. This will be a new experience for our staff, students and families and we appreciate the patience of all involved. We plan to send out an email about the Gmail Account that has been assigned to every student in PreK-12th Grade and a Google Classroom(s) that they will become a part of during this time to receive instruction and assignments that they may have. With the exception of dual credit requirements that are given by Alamo Colleges for our high school students, we as a school will have the freedom to think outside of the box to be able to keep our students actively learning.

This period is unlike any other in our lifetime. The health and safety of our students, staff and community at large is our utmost priority. FBA is a family. Let us all continue to pray and come together in this time to shine our light before men so that they will glorify our Father who is in Heaven. Scripture tells us that “when the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul” (Psalms 94:19, ESV).

Trusting in Him,

Christine Povolish
