SUMMER READING BINGO SHEETS
We are so proud of our students for reading this summer! If your student participated in the Summer Reading Bingo, please send in his/her Bingo sheet to the homeroom teacher by Friday, August 31. We will be collecting the information to award prizes!
High School House Rally
August 30th and August 31st, the high school students will attend the high school house rally at El Shaddai Ranch in Yorktown, Texas.
ICE CREAM SALES
FBA will be offering ice cream to students in grades K5 – 12th on Fridays, beginning THIS FRIDAY, August 31st.
Ice cream will be 75 cents. Your child may bring cash or you may purchase an ice cream card for $10.00 that will give you 14 punches. You may send your $10.00 to your child’s homeroom teacher in an envelope marked with your child and teacher’s name or drop it off in the school office. Only cash will be accepted. You may not put ice cream or the card on your account.
The proceeds will benefit the junior and senior students going to Puerto Rico in the spring.
If you receive a phone call from the school, PLEASE check your phone for a message before you call back. With many staff and faculty, those of us in the office that answer the phone have no way of knowing who might have called you.
LABOR DAY HOLIDAY
School and ELS will be closed on Monday, September 3rd in observance of Labor Day.
SCHOOL PICTURE DAY
Thursday, September 6th is school picture day. Please have your child(ren) to school on time and try not to schedule any appointments for this day. We want to make sure every student is here to have their picture taken.
If you did not get tickets on Get Acquainted Day, you may come by the school office to purchase. DEADLINE to purchase tickets is TODAY .
Please note: YOU MUST PRESENT YOUR TICKETS TO RECEIVE A PLATE.
JOB OPPORTUNITY AT THE ACADEMY
Looking for anyone that is interested in an ELS or ELS sub position. The hours are a little crazy, but perfect for someone out there (great hours for college students, or someone just needing some part time hours). The job is with our before and after school care program from 7:00-8:30 a.m. and 3:00-6:00 p.m. Subbing could involve some different hours too. Job requirements: 18 yrs old, high school graduate, background check cleared, CPR & First Aid certified, and food handlers card (School will provide these trainings).

9/6 All students Picture day – seniors will take cap & gown pictures
9/6 11th grade - Balfour will be here to distribute class ring information
9/13 11th grade - Balfour will return to collect class ring orders
9/14 11th grade – Lunch with the Counselor (bring your lunch to P101 for dessert and college readiness information)
9/18 3rd – 8th Math Olympics in-class tryouts
9/25 College Information Night at 6:00 pm in P102 – just past the school office
9/21 9th – 12th Meca Sportswear will be here to check sizes and take orders for new letter jackets as well as patch applications to existing jackets.
High School students who are not currently enrolled in the dual credit program and would be interested in taking online dual credit classes in the Spring of 2018 need to contact Mrs. San Roman to start the application process. St. Philips will open up the enrollment process on September 15th.
