FBA SUNDAY

We would like to invite you to a special day coming up to let Jesus’ light shine.

We would love to have our Kinder to Second Grade come and sing during our 11:15 a.m. service at First Baptist Church.  Students attending need to be in the Sanctuary by 10:50 a.m. ready for a sound check wearing their Sunday best and a smile. We will be singing from the steps on the organ side of the stage. Our God’s grace is so wonderful, so our song of choice will be “Amazing Grace”.

All are welcome, but only Kinder-2nd grade students will be singing.

READ TO SUCCEED – Six Flags Program: Just a reminder that the deadline to turn in the Reading log for the Read to Succeed Program is approaching! If your child read and recorded 360 minutes (6 hours) they will earn a free ticket to Six Flags! Remember also, that the same minutes each month that students are using for the Pizza Hut Book It Reading program can be used for Read to Succeed. Double the value! Some of the littles are counting books, not minutes, for Book It, so they can just estimate the amount of time spent. DEADLINE TO TURN IN THE READ TO SUCCEED LOG IS FEBRUARY 23rd!  You may turn in the log any time between now and then, but it MUST be received by 2-23 (which is a weekend).

SCHOOLSTORE

Your child came home with a parent letter yesterday requesting you to help them enter email addresses to friends and family, and by doing this you will increase our odds of getting financial support.  Just like Amazonsmile, you can shop and support our school through merchant’s like Kohls, Wal-Mart etc. simply by going to www.schoolstore.com and selecting First Baptist Academy!  From there you will select the merchant you want to shop with online.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL NEWS

Everyone should be proud of the hard work that the middle school boys basketball team has accomplished.  The season that they had was a rough one.  The end result of regular play qualified our team as the top seed in the D2 division (double elimination).  There were two days of games scheduled. The first game was played late on Thursday (Feb 8, 2018) at Cross Lutheran; resulting in our first loss.  The second series of games were played on Saturday (Feb 10, 2018).  Our first loss put us in the Loser's bracket and set us up for a tough ladder climb.  The first game was played at 3:00pm vs RCCS resulting in a victory, although that did not make things any easier.  We had an one hour break and then had to play NW Hills (5:00pm) resulting in another victory.  Then right after that game we went from Home to Visitor with a five minute break and had to play Cross Lutheran again (6:00pm).  This was a game for the third place trophy.  The fight was tough but our team prevailed and we were set to play Town East for first place (7:00pm).  As I mentioned before the tournament is double elimination and Town East had not lost yet.  After playing four games almost back to back our Eagles had the determination to win but all their energy had been used up.  We ended up losing the first of what would have been two games.  The final result was FBA receiving 2nd place in our middle school tournament.  So give your FBA middle school boys a big round of applause for all the hard work they put in to represent our school this year!

Ice cream,

You Scream,

We all Scream for Ice Cream

Wait!? What?

NO MORE Ice Cream on my card? Oh No!!!

Chocolateicecreamforopenclipart[1]

Some of our children have “used” up their Ice Cream cards!

The used up card should be coming home in your child’s red folder.

Fear NOT,

We have a solution!!!

If you desire to purchase another card:

We will sell another card for $6 that will give them 8 more weeks of ice cream.

(we only have 8 more weeks of selling ice cream, due to days off and spring break, etc.)

Please put your Money ($6) in an Envelope Clearly Marked:

Ice cream Card

Child’s name

HOMEROOM TEACHER on the Sealed envelope  in your red folder.

We will get the cards to the children.

(Of course, you DO NOT have to have a card to get Ice cream each week. Students can always just bring 75 cents a week!)

Thank you, Thank you for helping the 7th and 8th graders go to Washington D.C. this spring!!

Your purchase of Ice Cream for your child has helped make that possible!
