9th, 10th and 11th grade students will be taking the PSAT 8/9 or PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 11th .  The test will be administered from 8:10 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. in the Choral Suite (9th) and the Peace Auditorium (10th, 11th). 

 

GRANDPARENT/GRANDFRIEND DAY

This event is for Grandparents or Grandfriends only.  No parents or siblings.  Thank you for your understanding.  There is still time to invite a grandparent or grandfriend.  If you need additional invitations we have a few invitations in the school office that you may come by and pick up.  Students may only leave with the grandparent/grandfriend if we have written permission from the parent/guardian or the grandparent/grandfriend is on the student’s pickup list.

School will be dismissed at noon for students K5 – 12th (preschool will dismiss at their regular time).  There is no HANG TIME.  ELS will be open until 6:00 p.m.  Contact ELS to reserve a spot. No Hot Lunch will be served. Bring a sack lunch and drink if staying in ELS.

Parents, if you would like to purchase an ICE CREAM PUNCH CARD for your child: they get 14 ice creams for $10!!  This is a great alternative to sending 75 cents every week.

If you would like to purchase a punch card, send in $10.00 cash or a check (made out to FBA) in an envelope with the following hi-lighted information on the front of the envelope.

NEW BIRTHDAY OPTION: If it’s your child’s birthday and you would like to celebrate at lunch, you may purchase a couple of cards for the class – which gives your child three free ice creams. The Birthday Child gets one free ice cream if you buy for the whole class!  

REMINDER:  Ice cream is only served on Fridays so ice cream birthday celebrations will only be done on Fridays.  

Please notify the teacher if you decide to celebrate your child’s birthday this way.

Students in grades 6th – 12th need to attend the conference.

OCTOBER MONTHLY CUTOFF DATE:  

  • Oct 27th   NOTE:  The month of October is a Special Competition for Electives and Support Classes (Art, Band, Choir/Music, Computer, Library, P.E./Health, Spanish, Tech Crew, Theatre, Yearbook, etc.)

  • Be sure to label the baggies with the name of Specials teacher

  • The winners of the Special Competition will get a dress down day (teacher and all the students in that Special!) on Nov 15th!!!

MID-WEEK WORSHIP:

Join us this Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm in the Peace Auditorium as David Jones teaches our study,  

UPWARD EVALUATIONS AND ORIENTATION, THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7!

Our first Upward evaluations and orientation meetings are this Saturday, October 7! Come to the REC Center between 8-9 am for Cheer Orientation and between 9:30-11:30 am for Basketball Orientation and Evaluations. All athletes are required to attend one of these evaluation times. The next evaluation will be October 21. Call the church office for more information.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD:

Each October and November, we collect gift-filled shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, a project sponsored by Samaritan's Purse Ministry. Shoe boxes are filled with items such as small toys, t-shirts, toothbrushes/toothpaste, school supplies, and information about our Savior, Jesus Christ. Our goal this year is to collect 500 boxes! You may pick up shoe boxes to fill at the tables set up in the Sanctuary foyer beginning October 15.

The church will host their annual Fall Family Festival on October 31st.  We encourage you to bring your family and friends to this event.  It is a great time for everyone.  Please no scary costumes.
