Upper School Principal

Willie J. Thomas Jr, Retired from The United States Air Force after 20 Years of Honorable service. While serving in the U.S. Air Force he was deployed and participated in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm (The Gulf War) as well as participating in Operation Southern Watch. While stationed at Kelly AFB later annexed to Lackland AFB he was a volunteer coach for six years at New Life Christian Academy. Upon his retirement from the Air Force he was hired as the Athletic Director, Head Coach, and Secondary Teacher. Willie has been married to Mrs. Elaine Thomas for over 34 years. They have two Adult children (Tyrone and Tamara, and one grandson Tyler). Willie is one of our Upper School Teachers and has taught Geography, American Government, Economics, Bibles I/IV, World History, and U.S. History. He coached Middle School Soccer his first two years here, and was the Varsity Boys Head Basketball Coach for four years. He also served as House sponsor for the House of Benjamin. He has coached in Christian school for 23 years and taught in Christian school for 17 years as well as substituting in Public school. Willie served as Athletic Director for thirteen years at his former school. Willie has coached several teams to District and Regional Titles as well as State appearances and State Runner-up Awards in Volleyball, Six-Man Football, Basketball, and Track & Field. He has also twice been named as an All-Star Coach by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). Willie holds 2 Associates Degrees (Business, Mechanical & Electrical Technology), 1 Bachelors of Science Degree (Occupational Education), and a Masters of Education Degree in Secondary Education (Curriculum and Instructions) from Wayland Baptist University.
