This is Debbie Goddard’s tenth year at FBA. She is choir director for both middle and high schools and also teaches elementary music grades 3-5. She graduated from Trinity University with a Bachelor of Music Education and was TAPPS Fine Arts Teacher of the Year in 2010. She is blessed to have the support of her wonderful husband Bruce as well as her four adult children and her sweet granddaughter.

The FBA Eagle Choir is a non-audition ensemble composed of high school students. Students rehearse either daily or every other day during 7th period (depending on whether they are band members or not.)

As well as our concerts at FBA, each fall, students have the opportunity to audition to become a member of the Texas Music Educators Association Region 12 choir. See this year’s calendar for audition dates and concert date.

In the spring we participate in Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools district competition and have the opportunity to qualify for state competition in the following categories: Large Ensemble, Small Ensemble, Sacred Ensemble, Show Choir, and Solos. Our TAPPS state record is as follows:

2015 – 1st (2A)

2014 – 1st (2A)

2013 – 1st (2A)

2012 – 1st (2A)

2011 – 4th (2A)

2010 – 1st (1A)

2009 – 1st (1A)

2008 – 2nd (1A)

2007 – 3rd (1A)

2006 – 4th (1A)

2005 – 1st (1A)

We realize that it is God who has given us the opportunity and ability to sing music for His glory and through the power of His Holy Spirit. Our choir motto is Soli Deo Gloria (to God alone be the glory) as we seek to honor Him in all areas of life.
